As a guard for the Golden Hurricane, he became the first TU player to earn All-America honors in two consecutive seasons. Was named to the Associated Press All-America teams in 1951 and 1952. Was co-captain of the 1952 Gator Bowl team, and was twice selected to the All-Missouri Valley Conference team. Went on to play for the Pittsburgh Steelers and Atlanta Falcons.
