An outstanding running back, receiver and punter, he led the Hurricane in scoring in 1941 and was selected as the best blocking and tackling back on the 1942 team. Played on two Bowl teams including the Sun Bowl and Sugar Bowl. His contributions helped Tulsa achieve a 25-6 record over three seasons. Earned All-Missouri Valley Conference honors in 1942. Was a versatile athlete who also lettered in basketball and track. Was drafted by the Chicago Cardinals in 1943.
