Tutoring and Mentoring

Tutoring and Mentoring

The primary goal of the OASiS Tutoring/Mentoring Program is to provide student-athletes with academic assistance beyond what they receive in the classroom. Tutor and mentor sessions are held in conjunction with the study hall program in the Ingersoll Academic Achievement Center.

Content tutors play a key role in the academic development of student-athletes. Tutors are able to provide a more thorough understanding of course content as well as needed academic skills.

Mentors are specialist that holistically assist student-athletes to develop positive study habits, time management & organizational skills.

Each member of the tutoring and mentoring staff go through a structured training program to ensure the highest quality of services are provided.  Topics our tutors and mentors are trained on include: study strategies, test preparation, NCAA policies and ethical guidelines.
