PAUSE AT THE RELEASE: Chocolate Chip Oatmeal Balls
Pause at the Release: Chocolate Chip Oatmeal Balls
Feb. 2, 2015
Tulsa, Okla. - Pause at the Release is our periodic feature in which we highlight the perspective of one of our student-athletes. In these articles, the athletes share their personal experiences as part of the Golden Hurricane team with our wonderful supporters and community members. Here, you'll find the backstage story on TU Women's Rowing, told through the eyes of the athletes themselves. Check back often to see updates from more of your favorite rowers and coxswains.

We're back in twenty-hour weeks, school and classes are in full swing, and a lot of the time we need a quick and healthy snack option. For the month of February, we thought we'd share some of our favourite recipes for when you're on the go, traveling, or are looking for a tasty but healthy treat.
Junior, Emily Farrar, starts us off with Chocolate Chip Oatmeal Balls:
"My favorite snack to make is chocolate chip oatmeal balls! They are a great source of energy (oatmeal is one of the healthiest things a rower can eat) and provides a little bit of sweetness as well! One of the seniors last year made them, and I became obsessed!"
1 1/2 cups of oatmeal
1/2 cups flax seed meal
1/2 cup mini chocolate chips (ghirdelli is the best)
1cup creamy peanut butter
1/4 cup honey
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
About a tablespoon of wheat germ
