Tulsa Spirit General Information
Game and Event Attendance
Tulsa Spirit Squads attend all home football games, women's home basketball games, men's home basketball games, as well as selected out-of-state football games, conference tournament basketball games, post-season tournament games, and bowl games. In addition, spirit squad members attend various athletic and TU-related events and perform in the community, such as corporate and charity events. Tulsa Spirit members are cheerleaders, dancers, entertainers, and most importantly, ambassadors for The University of Tulsa!
Practice and Workouts
Tulsa Spirit Squads train a minimum of two times weekly. Practices are held on campus in the Spirit Room located in the Mabee Gym, at Chapman Stadium on the football field, and in the Donald W Reynolds Center on the basketball court. Additional team fitness training is also required a minimum of two times a week. Team fitness training is held on campus in the Donald W Reynolds Center and is facilitated by our strength and conditioning coach.
Academic Requirements
The University of Tulsa Athletic Department supports and directs Tulsa Spirit Squads. All teams adhere to the role and mission of The University of Tulsa Department of Intercollegiate Athletics.
Tulsa Spirit members are considered part of the Athletic Department family and follow NCAA rules for eligibility to participate in collegiate sports. All members must maintain a 2.0 grade point average or above and carry a minimum of 12 credits. All members have access to a Spirit-specific Student Success Coach. Each member is required to meet with the Student Success Coach a minimum of twice a semester.
