RECENT MILESTONES
Tulsa won the 2012 Conference USA Championship and the 2012 AutoZone Liberty Bowl.
Tulsa has won a school record 11 games twice –– 2008 and 2012 –– posting 11-3 records in both seasons.
Tulsa posted five 10-win seasons since 2007, including a 10-3 record in 2016
Tulsa became the first school in NCAA Division I/FBS history to have a 3,000-yard passer (Dane Evans), two 1,000-yard rushers (James Flanders and D’Angelo Brewer) and two 1,000-yard receivers (Jost Atkinson and Keevan Lucas)
Dane Evans set Tulsa career passing records for attempts, completions, yards, touchdowns, 300+ games and tied the mark for 400+ passing games. He also became the schools all-time leader for total yards.
Tulsa finished the 2010 season as the nation’s 24th-ranked team in the nation and the 2012 campaign ranked 25th.

Tulsa’s 10-3 season in 2010 included victories over Notre Dame, Houston and 24th-ranked Hawai’i.
Safety Dexter McCoil became the school’s career record-holder for interceptions, tying the record in 2011 and establishing a new record as a senior in 2012 with 18 career pick-offs.
Running Back Alex Singleton completed his career as Tulsa’s career TD leader with 44 touchdowns and the school’s career TD rushing leader with 43 rushing touchdowns.
Tulsa had three All-Americans in the 2010 season, including second-team All-American Damaris Johnson and Freshman All-Americans Shawn Jackson and Marco Nelson.
Craig Suits was named to the FWAA All-America Freshman Team in 2014.
Damaris Johnson became the NCAA all-time record-holder for career all-purpose yards and career kickoff return yards in the 2010 season.
Quarterback G.J. Kinne was Tulsa’s second Conference USA Offensive Player of the Year since Tulsa joined the league in 2005 with his selection in 2010. Paul Smith was the C-USA Offensive Player of the Year in 2007.

TRADITION
The legacy of Tulsa football began in 1895 with one of the first football games to be played in Indian territory. Tulsa posted its’ first undefeated season in 1916 and had two more in the glorious 1920’s.
Tulsa was the first school to play in five straight New Years Day Bowl Games –– 1942 Sun Bowl, 1943 Sugar Bowl, 1944 Sugar Bowl, 1945 Orange Bowl and the 1946 Oil Bowl.
Until 1964 college football was dominated by rushing attacks, but it was Tulsa that revitalized the game of football –– leading the nation in passing for five consecutive years, 1962-66.
NFL talent flourished in the 1970s for the Hurricane, led by two future NFL All-Pro receivers Drew Pearson and Steve Largent.
At the turn of the century, Tulsa made eight bowl games in a span of 10 years beginning with the Humanitarian Bowl in the 2003 season.
IN THE NFL
More than 190 Tulsa players have been drafted, and many more have signed free agent contracts.
Lovie Smith was 1 of 4 former Tulsa players to become an NFL Head Coach in school history.
Smith was the Head Coach of the Chicago Bears for nine seasons, and two seasons for the Tamba Bay Bucs before returning to the college ranks. The others included Tommy Hudspeth (Detriot Lions), Sam Rutigliano (Cleveland Browns), Ray Rhodes (Philadelphia Eagles and Green Bay Packers).
