Grant Lester is in his ninth season on the Tulsa football coaching staff in 2021, having joined the school in March 2013. He was promoted to offensive quality control coach prior to the 2018 campaign.
Lester spent his first five months as a volunteer assistant, and then became a graduate assistant coach beginning with the 2013 season, when he helped coach the Tulsa wide receivers. Upon completion of his master’s degree in 2015, Lester then served as an offensive analyst for two seasons.
In his first three years as assistant receiver coach, Lester coached three players –– Keyarris Garrett, Keevan Lucas and Josh Atkinson –– who completed their careers among the school’s top-7 for all-time receiving yards.
After earning all-district honors as a receiver at Tulsa’s Union High School in 2003, Lester played football at Wheaton (Ill.) College for two seasons (2004-05).
Lester completed his education at the University of Oklahoma, where he earned a bachelor’s degree in microbiology in 2009.
