The 1969 Tulsa baseball team compiled an overall record of 39-5 record, while winning the school’s first-ever Missouri valley Conference baseball Championship … the Hurricane won the school’s first ever District 5 Championship to advance to the College World Series, as the Hurricane finished as the World Series runner-up … Tulsa defeated UCLA 6-5, Texas 4-2 and New York University 2-0, to advance to the World Series finals against Arizona State, but dropping a pair of games to the Sun Devils … Tulsa established nine schools record for wins (39), consecutive game winning streak (21), home runs (29), triples (19), doubles (56), hits (422), runs scored (280), at-bats (1,390) and lowest ERA (2.19) … third baseman Less Rogers and pitcher Cliff Butcher were named to the Baseball All-America team.
