Posted a 10-1 record with wins over Air Force, Oklahoma State and Kansas … won a third-straight Missouri Valley Conference title with a 6-0 league record under head coach John Cooper ... only loss came on the road at the hands of #13-ranked Arkansas … played in the fictitious Justice Bowl against New Mexico, as both teams were snubbed by the bowl games …the team featured the Palomino Express, the running back duo of Micheal Gunter and Ken Lacy who each rushed for over 1,000 yards that season … eight players from that team were drafted into the NFL.
