Recognized as one of the great defensive ends in Golden Hurricane history, Don Blackmon was an outstanding pass rusher and tackler … he totaled 336 career tackles and set the school's career record for tackles for lost yardage with 40 stops for -239 yards … was a three-time All-Missouri Valley Conference selection and received the league's Defensive Player of the Year award in 1980 … had 114 tackles and 10 stops for -45 yards as a senior … earned second-team All-America honors by the Associated Press in 1978 and 1980 … played professionally with the New England Patriots.
