Considered one of Oklahoma’s greatest tennis players, Gerin Cameron won the Missouri Valley singles championship three straight years … in 1937, he won the Tulsa, Oklahoma State, Arkansas, and Kansas State singles tournaments … in 1938, he advanced to the singles finals of the National Intercollegiate Tennis Championship … in addition to great success as a tennis star, he also played three years of varsity basketball for the Golden Hurricane.
