An All-America tailback, Glenn Dobbs led Tulsa to a Sun Bowl victory on January 1, 1942 and to a Sugar Bowl appearance the next season … led Tulsa in passing, pass efficiency and punting in both 1941 and `42 … had the nation's best punting average in 1942 with a 48.3 average … had four career punts over 75 yards with a long of 87 yards … was a three-time All-Missouri Valley Conference performer … after excelling in professional football as an All-Pro halfback, he returned to his alma mater in 1961 to take the position of head coach … he revitalized Tulsa's passing attack and led the team to 1964 and `65 Bluebonnet Bowl appearances, as well as five consecutive NCAA passing titles (1962-66) … was elected to the Helms Foundation Hall of Fame and the National College Football Hall of Fame.
