Hardy Brown was an outstanding halfback who played both offense and defense for the Golden Hurricane … was noted for his ferocious tackling and blocking skills in college and in professional football … was selected to the All-Missouri Valley Conference first team in 1945 and ‘46 … was twice voted as the team's outstanding blocking and tackling back… was also an outstanding punter who averaged 38 yards per punt over three seasons … led Tulsa to a 22-9 record in his three seasons, including the 8-3 team that played in the 1945 Oil Bowl.
