One of the greatest pass receivers in college football history, Howard Twilley set numerous NCAA records for pass receptions in 1964 and ’65 … caught 261 passes for 3,343 yards and 32 touchdowns in his career … had 95 receptions for 1,178 yards and 12 TDs in 1964, and 134 catches for 1,779 yards and 16 TDs in 1965 … as a senior, he earned first-team All-America honors and was the 1965 Heisman Trophy runner-up … was selected Lineman of the Year by the United Press International in 1965 … led Tulsa to two Bluebonnet Bowl appearances … had his jersey No. 81 retired … following his collegiate career, he played with the Miami Dolphins, making three trips to the Super Bowl.
