An outstanding shortstop for the Tulsa baseball teams, Mike Marrs started for the Hurricane for three consecutive years … he earned all-Missouri Valley Conference honors for three seasons (1966, ’67 and ‘68) … in those three seasons, the Hurricane finished each year in second-place in the MVC, compiling a three-year overall record of 58-18 record … in 1966, Marrs led the Hurricane in hitting with a .400 batting average and completed his career with a .362 batting average … also lettered in basketball for three years.
