A world-class golfer, Nancy Lopez won 11 of 19 tournaments in her two seasons playing for the Golden Hurricane … won six tournaments as a freshman including the AIAW National Championship … led Tulsa to runner-up finishes at the AIAW National Tournament as a freshman and sophomore … tied for second at the U.S. Women's Open Championship in 1975 … was a first-team All-America selection in 1976 and ’77 … as a rookie on the LPGA Tour, she won five consecutive tournaments and was selected as the 1978 LPGA Player of the Year … won over 30 LPGA titles during her career, and was inducted into the LPGA Hall of Fame in 1989.
