Neal Sweeney was an outstanding wingback, who was among the nation's leading receivers in 1965 and ‘66 after transferring from Pierce Junior College … had career totals of 134 receptions for 1,623 yards and 11 touchdowns … ranked third nationally in receiving in 1965 with 78 receptions for 883 yards and eight touchdowns … was a first-team All-Missouri Valley Conference and honorable mention All-America selection in 1965 … had six career games in which he caught passes for more than 100 yards … best career game came against North Texas State in 1966 when he caught 14 passes for 219 yards.
