Phil Honeycutt played shortstop for the Tulsa baseball team… had a career batting average of .331 with nine home runs and 53 RBI … in three seasons, he helped lead Tulsa to a 102-29 record, three Missouri Valley Conference championships and two appearances in the College World Series ... was the second-leading hitter with a .353 average on Tulsa’s 39-5 and CWS runner-up team in 1969 ... had a .411 batting average with 67 hits and 35 RBI in helping Tulsa finish in third place at the 1971 College World Series ... earned all-conference honors both as a freshman and junior and garnered All-America accolades following his junior season ... played in the New York Yankees organization.
