Was an outstanding punter who averaged 40.5 career yards in helping Tulsa win Missouri Valley Conference Championships in each of his three seasons handling the punting chores ... earned second-team Sporting News All-America honors and was named to the all-MVC team in 1975 ... led Tulsa in punting for three straight years, including a career-best 46.5-yard average on 37 punts his senior season ... averaged 40.5 yards on 56 punts in 1974 and in his first year as the starting punter in 1973, he averaged 36.8 yards on 59 punts ... was a third-round draft choice of the Seattle Seahawks in 1976 and spent three years in the NFL with the Seahawks, Pittsburgh Steelers and Philadelphia Eagles.
