Steve August was a three-year starter on the offensive line (1973, ‘75, and ’76) … redshirted in 1974 after suffering a knee injury … was a first-team All-Missouri Valley Conference selection and earned third-team All-America honors by the Associated Press in 1976 … as a senior, Tulsa led the MVC in total offense with 336.0 yards per game … played in the East-West Shrine Game and Senior Bowl … was a first round draft choice by the Seattle Seahawks, where he spent most of his pro career … completed his career with the Pittsburgh Steelers.
