Turned the program around in 2003 after only a 2-21 record in the two previous seasons … snapped an 11-year drought of losing when his first team posted an 8-5 record and finished second in the Western Athletic Conference in 2003 … the Hurricane also made the school’s first bowl appearance in 12 years with an invitation in the Humanitarian Bowl… he was named the 2003 WAC Coach of the Year… his team posted a 9-4 record and won the Conference USA Championship in 2005, while leading his team to the AutoZone Liberty Bowl Championship with a 31-24 win over Fresno State… made his third bowl appearance in his 4 seasons in the 2007 Bell Helicopter Armed Forces Bowl … posted record of 29-22 in four seasons.
