Tommy Hudspeth was an outstanding defensive back who started every game in his three-year career … was voted team captain his senior year, and led Tulsa to the 1952 Gator Bowl … during his career, Tulsa’s record was 26-5-2 with two Missouri Valley Conference Championships … was selected to the 1950’s All-Oklahoman All-Decade team … went on to a coaching career at Brigham Young and UTEP on the college level, and later served as head coach for the NFL’s Detroit Lions and the CFL’s Toronto Argonauts … later returned to Tulsa to work in the school’s athletic fundraising department.
