Melissa McNamara was the individual medalist at the 1988 NCAA Championship while leading her team to the national title, a team coached by her mother Dale … won four career tournaments and placed among the top-10 in 22 of 41 events … earned first-team All-America accolades as a senior and was a second-team selection both her sophomore and junior years … was the only freshman to earn honorable mention All-America merits in 1985 … captured her first victory in only her second collegiate tournament, the Nancy Lopez Invitational … was inducted into the National Golf Coaches Hall of Fame in 1998 … after her LPGA career, coached two seasons at Tulsa, succeeding her mother.
