Bruce Howard came to The University of Tulsa as director of sports broadcasting in June 1995. He has served as the "Voice of Golden Hurricane" football and men's basketball since 1993.
Previously, he was the director of broadcasting and play-by-play voice for the Tulsa Drillers baseball franchise, the double-A affiliate of the Texas Rangers, for seven years.
Howard also served as the play-by-play voice of Oral Roberts University men's basketball for one year, and the Tulsa Fastbreakers and Tulsa Zone Continental Basketball Association franchises for three seasons.
Before coming to Tulsa in 1989 as the Tulsa Drillers announcer, Howard worked in Nashville for the Tennessee Radio Network as well s WLAC Radio and WZTV as the Nashville Sounders play-by-play voice.
Howard earned a degree in telecommunications from Cayuga (NY) College in 1978.
