Â
During his first year at TU, Tulsa Athletics set new standards in academics, athletics and fundraising. In competition, Tulsa teams excelled across the board, with Women’s Cross Country and Women’s Golf both capturing American Athletic Conference titles, and Men’s and Women’s Cross Country advancing to the NCAA Championships. Women’s Tennis and Women’s Golf each earned NCAA Regional berths, and a total of 53 student-athletes were recognized with All-Conference honors. Success extended into the classroom as well as TU student-athletes posted the highest GPA in school history, 11 sports programs earned a perfect APR score and 25 student-athletes were named Academic All-District.
Â
Moore and the development team recorded the highest annual fundraising total in the history of Tulsa Athletics, driven by a record-breaking TU Giving Day, with $757,385 in pledges. In addition to fundraising success, Tulsa also set new records for both licensing royalties and sponsorship revenue.
Â
Along with achieving success in the classroom and setting fundraising records, Moore made key leadership hires across the department. He brought in a new football coaching staff and a new head coach for women’s golf. In their first year under Coach Roters, the women’s golf team won the American Athletic Conference Championship, and Roters was named American Coach of the Year. Moore also added several new members to the executive staff and serves as a member of the President’s Senior Cabinet.
Â
In 2025, Tulsa also announced the reinstatement of the Men’s Golf program after a nine-year hiatus, marking the 18th varsity sport at TU. This momentous return was made possible thanks to the generosity of our donors—many of whom are proud alumni who helped build the tradition of Tulsa Men’s Golf.
Â
Also in 2025, Tulsa Athletics released the Tulsa Athletics Strategic Plan to position TU Athletics for long-term success and to become the standard of excellence in the American conference. The plan is designed to DEVELOP student-athletes and staff, ENGAGE the community, and WIN championships.Â
Â
A Houston, Texas, native, Moore arrived at Tulsa after spending much of his career in the Lonestar state. Moore served as the Executive Deputy Athletics Director and Chief Operating Officer at Texas A&M, where he worked alongside the Director of Athletics in directing the overall planning, implementation, administration and day-to-day operations of the athletics department.
Â
Prior to moving into that role in 2022, Moore worked in various other administrative roles at his alma mater, including serving as Deputy Athletics Director for Administration (2019-21), Senior Associate Athletics Director (2016-19) and Associate Athletics Director for Football (2012-15). During his tenure in College Station, Moore had an impact in almost every area of the department, including student-athlete performance and wellness, facilities and event management, fundraising, facility planning and capital projects, academics, compliance, budgeting, team operations and more. He also spearheaded an extensive leadership development program for the athletics department that offered courses and continuing education opportunities for coaches, staff and student-athletes. In addition, he has served as the sport administrator for many of the Aggies’ key sports including Football, Men’s Basketball, Men’s and Women’s Track and Field/Cross Country, Men’s Golf, and Women’s tennis.Â
Â
In his four seasons as the Aggies’ Associate Director for Football, he oversaw every aspect of the football program during one of the most successful periods in its history. From 2012-15, Texas A&M won 36 games, earned a bowl berth every season and produced eight First Team All-Americans, as well as the first freshman Heisman Trophy winner in college football history and the school’s first Outland Trophy recipient. In addition, the team’s multi-year Academic Progress Rate (APR) and overall team grade point average were both the highest in program history and football student-athletes earned close to 100 SEC Academic Honor Roll citations.
Â
As the Associate Director for Football, Moore oversaw personnel and staffing, the departmental budget, recruiting, team logistics, bowl game coordination, day-to-day operations and football-related facility projects, which included the design process for the Davis Player Development Center, the R.C. Slocum Nutrition Center and Bright Football Complex Renovation, and worked closely with the 12th Man Foundation on the $485 million Kyle Field Redevelopment project.Â
Â
Moore returned to Texas A&M in 2012 after spending four years at the University of Houston as the Assistant Athletics Director for Football. In his time with the Cougars, the team won the most games in any four-year period in school history and earned a pair of Conference USA West Division titles.
Â
A double graduate from Texas A&M, Moore received his Bachelor’s Degree in Finance in 2004 before earning a Master’s degree in Sports Management in 2007. He first worked in the private sector as a consultant for Deloitte and Touche LLP.
Â
Moore was a two-time captain for the Texas A&M Baseball team. He was a Freshman All-American pitcher in 2001, named to the All-Big 12 Team twice and was a two-time recipient of the Pat Olsen Most Valuable Pitcher Award (2001-2002). He also earned Academic All-Big 12 Team honors for four straight years.
Â
A three-sport standout in high school, Moore graduated from Katy Taylor in 1999 and was inducted in the school’s Athletics Hall of Fame in 2012.
Â
He and his wife, Dory, have three children: Kate (16), Tysen (14) and Tatum (12).
