Tom Perpetua joined Tulsa Athletics in October 2025 as the Director of Athletics Communications. He serves as the primary contact for the men's basketball, softball, and cross country programs.

He came from Louisiana after two-plus seasons, where he served as the primary contact for the Ragin' Cajun men's basketball, women's soccer, track and field, cross country, and men's and women's tennis programs. He oversaw the men's basketball Sun Belt Conference Championship run in 2023 and the team's trip to the NCAA Tournament. He also ran the social media for the track and field program as they saw a rebirth in recent seasons, culminating in a Sun Belt Conference Men's Indoor Championship in 2025. Perpetua also ran a campaign promoting new men's basketball head coach, Quannas White, that saw major growth in the program's social media followers across all platforms.

Perpetua also served as the inputter for the Louisiana football team as well as a primary inputter for the women's basketball team. He also served in various roles when the Ragin' Cajuns held special events. In 2023, he served as the Media Coordinator and Official Scorer for the Sun Belt Confernece Softball Championships, hosted by Louisiana. He also served as the Official Scorer for the 2024 NCAA Softball Lafayette Regional, hosted by the Ragin' Cajuns. He was also part of the stats teams for the 2024 Sun Belt Conference Football Championships in Lafayette along with doing stats at the 2025 LHSSA (Louisiana High School Sports Association) Boy's State Basketball Championships and was the Official Scorer of a series in Lake Charles for the inaugural season of the AUSL.

Before his time at Louisiana, Perpetua started his career at the University of Texas Permian Basin, in Odessa, Texas. He arrived to the home of "Friday Night Lights" in the spring semester of 2018 as an intern and was promoted to Assistant Sports Information Director that fall. In the spring of 2020, he was promoted to Sports Information Director where he oversaw the department's 16 sponsored sports, running the department's main social media account, website, and handling media relations for the department. In the spring of 2021, the UTPB football program played a five-game post-COVID schedule, going 5-0 playing the most robust schedule of any Division II program in the country. He also ran point on publicizing what is known as "The Play" in Odessa, involving a football player giving up an easy defensive touchdown so that a senior teammate could score on senior day. The play captured over 10 million impressions to this day and the players were interviewed on SportsCenter and Access Hollywood. The play was also discussed on Good Morning America and multiple shows on ESPN.

While in Odessa, Perpetua helped grow the school's digital footprint. He helped implement the first ever live streams of the University's baseball, soccer, and softball programs while adding onto the live streams of the basketball and volleyball programs from a single camera view to a multi-camera view. He also started a student worker program and before and in just over two years grew the program from a single student to eight working in various capacities in athletics communications. Perpetua was in charge of the promotion of multiple high profile hires, including a new Director of Athletics, head football coach, and head men's basketball coach, as well as the opening of the D. Kirk Edwards Human Performance Center and the retirement of former Director of Athletics Scott Farmer after 30-plus years of service in intercollegiate athletics.

A native of Saugerties, New York, Perpetua got his start in athletics communications with his hometown Saugerties Stallions of the PGCBL (Perfect Game Collegiate Baseball League). Over three seasons he served in various roles including play-by-play, public address announcer, official scorer, and media coordinator. He would also serve as the Official Scorer for the 2019 PGCBL All Star Game held in Saugerties.

An avid fan of the New York Yankees, Perpetua also has an interest in cold-blooded animals, like reptiles and fish, thanks to his father. His father, Mark, a herpetologist in New York, started the Crocodilian Conservation Project on social media and YouTube, with Tom helping to promote the project behind the scenes. With Saugerties' proximity to New York City, many of Mark's animals have been used by various ad campaigns, television programs, and featured on talk shows, shot and filmed in New York City.

Perpetua graduated from the State University of New York at New Paltz with his Bachelor's in Journalism. He currently resides in Tulsa with his cat, Sushi.
