Brandon Campbell is currently in his fourth season at The University of Tulsa after being appointed as the head rowing coach on July 11, 2022.
 
Campbell led the Tulsa rowing team into their first season as affiliate members of the Big 12 in 2024-25. At the Big 12 Championship, his squad defeated Kansas, Kansas State, Old Dominion and West Virginia to finish as the conference runner-up. His Varsity 8 boats both took silver medals, while his Varsity 4 boats came away with bronze. Five more of Campbell’s rowers earned all-conference awards, becoming the first group of TU student-athletes in school history to earn All-Big 12 status.
 
2023-24 saw his rowers earn another runner-up finish in the American Championship, with his 1st Varsity 8 crew taking home a gold medal and subsequently coming away with American Boat of the Year honors. Five of his rowers were named all-conference after the season.
 
In his first season at the helm, TU earned a second-place finish at the 2023 American Athletic Conference Championship, capturing silver medals in the Varsity 8+, 2nd Varsity 8+ and 2nd Varsity 4+, while the Varsity 4+ earned a bronze medal.  Five Tulsa rowers earned all-conference accolades, while the Varsity 8+ was tabbed as the league’s Boat of the Week once.
 
Campbell came to TU after serving as a member of the Washington State rowing staff for seven years, including as a graduate assistant (2015-17), assistant coach and novice program lead (2017-19), first assistant coach and recruiting coordinator (2019-21) and associate head coach (2021-22). 
 
Campbell helped coach the Cougars to a 15th-place overall finish at the 2021 NCAA Championships, as well as a 12th-place mark in 2016, and 13th-place finishes in 2017 and 2018.  In 2018, Washington State earned the Collegiate Rowing Coaches Association Region 5 Staff of the Year honors.
 
Prior to WSU, Campbell served as general manager and Junior A and U23 men’s coach (2010-12), assistant coach (2013-15) and interim head coach (Summer 2016) for the South Niagara Rowing Club in Welland, Ontario, Canada.  He coached the Junior Women’s 8+ to a gold medal at the 2013 Women’s Henley Regatta.
 
Campbell also served as a volunteer coach at Brock University, coaching the Junior Varsity men for one season (2012) and Varsity men’s heavy weights two years (2013-14).
 
During his three years at Brock University, the U23 Men’s 1x (2013) and Men’s 2- (2013 and 2014) captured top marks at the Canadian National Rowing Championships.  Under his direction, the men’s team won the points trophy and claimed first-place finishes in the Heavyweight 2x and Heavyweight 4+, as well as recording a second-place mark in the Heavyweight 8+ at the Ontario University Association Championship in 2014.  Campbell also coached the Men’s Heavyweight 4+ to a first-place mark and the Heavyweight 1x to a second-place finish at the 2015 Dad Vail Regatta.
 
In 2014, Campbell represented Canada at the FISU University World Championships as a team coach. 

Campbell began his rowing career at E.L. Crossley Secondary School located in Fonthill, Ontario, Canada. He was a four-time national champion while competing for the Cyclones.  He also spent time on the Canadian Junior National team, finishing seventh in the Men’s 2- at the 2003 Junior World Championships.
 
Campbell holds a US Rowing Level II Certification.
 
Campbell earned his health and fitness promotion diploma from Niagara College [Canada} in 2013, his bachelor’s degree in kinesiology from Brock University [Canada] in 2016 and his master’s in sport management from Washington State in 2018.
 
His wife’s name is Lauren.
