Tulsa Routs Arkansas-Little Rock, IUPUI at Home:
In the final two home games of the year, Tulsa concluded the regular season with routs over Arkansas-Little Rock and IUPUI.

After standing water and poor field conditions from heavy rain moved the TU-UALR contest from the Donna J. Hardesty Sports Complex to Skelly Stadium,Tulsa scored five consecutive goals to down the Trojans, 5-1. Junior Melissa McCormick (Omaha, Neb.), freshmen Angie Bowman (Sioux Falls, S.D.) and Katie Schlecht (Derby, Kan.), along with sophomore Julie Twellman (Columbia, Mo.) and Kelly Noonan (St. Louis, Mo.), each netted goals for TU.

On Sunday against IUPUI, Tulsa christened the Hardesty Sports Complex with a 6-0 shutout victory over the Jaguars. Freshman Emily Trost (St. Louis, Mo.) scored two goals, while Julie Twellman, Kelly Noonan, Melissa McCormick and freshman Keely Flynn (Tulsa, Okla.) all netted a score.

TU Set to Battle Fresno State or TCU in WAC Tourney Semifinals:
Second-seeded Tulsa (12-5-1, 5-2 WAC) received a first-round bye at the 2000 Western Athletic Conference Championships and will play the winner of the TCU-Fresno State contest on Friday, Nov. 3 at 9:30 p.m. CST. The WAC Tournament will take place in Fresno, Calif., Nov. 2-5 at Bulldog Stadium. TU has an all-time record of 0-2 against the Bulldogs and leads the series with the Horned Frogs, 8-5-4.

Tulsa in the WAC Championships:
Tulsa has an all-time record of 1-3 in four appearances in the WAC Tournament. In 1996, TU's inaugural season as a league member, the Hurricane fell to San Diego State, 3-1. In 1997, Tulsa upset second-seeded Utah, 2-1, in the first round before falling to SMU in overtime, 1-0, in the semifinals. Tulsa's last WAC Tournament appearance was in 1998 vs. BYU. TU fell to the Cougars, 3-2.

Tulsa Wraps-Up A Second-Place Finish in WAC Play:
With its victory over UTEP, Tulsa finished in second place in WAC play with a 5-2 record. After being picked to finish seventh in the preseason coaches poll, the TU recorded the best conference season in its five years as a WAC member. Prior to the 2000 campaign, Tulsa had finished no higher than third overall. TU not only earned a ticket to its fourth WAC Tournament in the last five years, but a first-round bye as well.

McCormick Shatters Single-Season Assist Record, Named WAC Player of the Week:
Junior Melissa McCormick was named the WAC Player of the Week for Oct. 23-29. McCormick shattered the school's single-season assist record by collecting her ninth assist of the season to establish a new school mark. She broke the previous record of seven, which seven former Hurricane players held. McCormick tied the school mark of seven with an assist on Julie Twellman's goal against Arkansas-Little Rock at the 51:04 minute mark. Against IUPUI, McCormick earned back-to-back assists on Tulsa's first two goals to break TU's single-season assist record. For the year, McCormick has career-highs in goals (8), assists (9) and points (25). She leads TU is assists and is second in both goals and points.

Player Notes:
Sophomore Julie Twellman moved up to ninth place among Tulsa's all-time leaders for goals scored with 20. Twellman needs just one more goal to tie former Hurricane standout Kaci Epp's (1996-99) 21 goals.

Kelly Noonan moved into sixth-place among TU's career assists leaders with 14. Noonan is one assist shy of tying Janette Javet's (1990-93) fifth-place mark of 15.

Melissa McCormick's 13 assists ranks eighth on TU's list for career assists, while her 49 career points ties her for 11th with Julie Twellman among TU's career scoring leaders.

Second-year Head Coach Damon Gore picked up his 20th career win against IUPUI.

Team Notes:
Tulsa has won six consecutive games, which is the third-best effort in school history . . . the win over IUPUI gave TU its 12th of the season, the third most in a single season . . . Tulsa has outscored is opponents, 13-2, in its last three games.
