Tulsa Golfers Lead After First Day at Kiawah Island Invitational

Kiawah Island, South Carolina - The Tulsa men's golf team completed the first round at the Cleveland Golf Kiawah Island Invitational at the Osprey Point Golf Course in Kiawah Island, South Carolina in a three-way tie for fourth-place.

However, the Hurricane vaulted into first-place in the afternoon's second round with a two-under par 286 following a first round 292. Tulsa's 36-hole total of 578 leads second-place LSU by four strokes.

Tulsa sophomore Billy Lowery, a transfer from Oklahoma State, is in a two-way tie for the individual lead after rounds of 69-73 for a two-under par 142. He is tied with Baylor's Worth Williams who scored identical rounds of 71. Hurricane junior Kevin Henry tied for the day's best round with a second round score of 68 to finish in a fourth-place with a one-under 143 score heading into tomorrow's final round.

Hurricane freshman Logan Goettsch is in 11th place following rounds of 73-72 for a one-over par 145. Fellow freshman David Inglis scored rounds of 75-73 for a 148 total, good for 22nd place. Sophomore Marc Zien's 156 total puts him in 57th place.

Following LSU's second-place 582 total is Mississippi State (583), College of Charleston and Baylor (588). Rounding out the top-10 is Alabama (589), South Alabama (591), Augusta State (594), Arkansas (596) and Florida State (601).

The tournament will conclude on Tuesday with 18 holes.
