Tulsa Hosts North Texas, Rice:
Tulsa (6-5-2, 1-2 WAC) takes a break from Western Athletic Conference play to host non-conference opponent North Texas (8-3, 4-0 Sun Belt) at 7:00 p.m. this Wednesday (10/17) at the Donna J. Hardesty Sports Complex. The North Texas contest marks the final non-conference game of the year for the Hurricane.

Tulsa leads the overall series with North Texas, 2-1. TU captured wins during the 1987 and 1995 seasons, but dropped a 2-0 decision to the Lady Eagles in the last meeting between the two teams in 1997.

TU resumes WAC action on Friday, Oct. 19 at 7:00 p.m. when Rice comes to Tulsa to battle the Golden Hurricane. Rice is in its inaugural season of women's soccer and is 3-6 overall and 2-1 in conference games. The Hurricane is 2-1-1 against first-time opponents this season.

TU Falls to Hawai`i in Lone Game Last Week:
In its only game last week, Tulsa allowed Hawai`i two first-half goals and never recovered, falling to the Rainbow Wahine, 2-1. Tulsa received its lone goal from freshman forward Holly Lorman (Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, Canada) with 22 minutes left in the game. Freshman goalkeeper Abby Fahrig (St. Charles, Mo.) collected four saves.

McCormick Reaches Seventh-Place among TU's Goals, Scoring Leaders:
Melissa McCormick (Omaha, Neb.) has moved into seventh-place on the school's career goals list with 26 and on the all-time scoring chart with 66 points. McCormick currently ranks sixth on the school's career assists list with 14. With six games remaining in the regular season she needs four goals to move into sixth-place on TU's all-time goals scored chart.

McCormick needs five points to move into sixth-place on the school's career scoring list. On TU's career assists list, McCormick is just five shy of tying former TU standout Shari Rozmus' (1988-91) school record of 19 career assists.

Lorman Continues to Find the Back of the Net:
TU's Holly Lorman recorded her third goal of the season against Hawai`i and is second on the team in goals and tied for second with sophomore Staci Morgan (Owasso, Okla.) in scoring with seven points. In WAC games, Lorman and classmate Kim McNally (Prince George, B.C., Canada) lead Tulsa in scoring, each with one goal for two points.

Tulsa Looks to Regain Offensive Scoring Punch:
During the first 10 games of the season, Tulsa was the top scoring team in the WAC, leading the conference in goals (17), scoring (43) and points per game with 4.78. Three games into conference play, the Hurricane has scored just two goals in three games and have failed to record an assist for four overall points, which is 1.33 points per game. TU's leading scorer, Melissa McCormick, began the conference portion of the schedule with eight goals in 10 games. Through three WAC contests, McCormick has been held in check by opposing teams and has yet to find the back of the net. In overall games, she leads all WAC players in goals (8), scoring (17 points) and points per game (1.31).

SMU to Host WAC Tournament, NCAA Women's College Cup:
SMU will serve as the host site for the 2001 WAC Tournament, Nov. 8-11, 2001. The nation's top soccer programs will battle for the 2001 NCAA Division I Women's Soccer Championship at SMU's Gerald J. Ford Stadium, Dec 7 & 9, 2001.

Player Notes:
Abby Fahrig has 79 saves this season and is four shy of tying former Hurricane goalkeeper Whitney Forsyth (1998) for fifth-place among TU's all-time saves leaders. Fahrig is currently tied for sixth-place with former Hurricane keeper, Melissa Mitchell (1994-97). On Tulsa's career saves list, Fahrig ranks eighth.
