Box Score

Baton Rouge, La. - With the shortening of the LSU Purple and Gold Challenge over the weekend, TU head coach James Pinkerton had to do something about his team not being able to do play games. Upon confirming with the LSU coaching staff, a single game on Monday afternoon was agreed upon. Just under two hours and a 6-0 lost to the eighth ranked team in the country later, Coach Pinkerton may be questioning that move.

The Golden Hurricane have yet to finish a tournament this season. Mother Nature has cut all four of the tournaments in which TU has participated, short with rain. This past weekend TU could not play games with Houston and McNeese State. The Hurricane were able to play #21 Southern Mississippi and #8 LSU. Monday's game was not a part of the original schedule. It was added after the two teams lost games to Mother Nature.

Tulsa did manage more hits on Monday than it did in Sunday's contest with three. Sophomore Christy Watkins and freshmen Morgan McCarley and A.J. Morris all contributed with a hit apeice.

Junior pitcher Amy Van Huss provided some quality relief, coming into the game in fourth inning and not allowing a run on three hits.

Tulsa will return to action on Tuesday with a double-header at Louisiana-Monroe, starting at 4 p.m.
