Tulsa Cancels Its UALR Match in Wake Of National Tragedy:
In the wake of the national tragedy on Tuesday, September 11, all University of Tulsa athletic events were canceled or postponed last week. TU's home opener against Arkansas-Little Rock was included in the canceled events.

Tulsa Adds Arkansas to 2001 Slate, Faces OSU, Texas Tech at Oklahoma Shoot-out:
Tulsa was originally scheduled to play Arkansas-Little Rock in its home opener last Sunday, but the game was canceled after last week's terrorist attacks in New York and Washington D.C. So, Tulsa has added another Arkansas team to the 2001 slate. The Hurricane will host the University of Arkansas (1-2) at 5:00 p.m. this Tuesday at the Donna J. Hardesty Sports Complex. The game will mark the home opener for Tulsa.

Tuesday's contest marks the 20th meeting between Tulsa and Arkansas. The Golden Hurricane leads the all-time series with the Lady Razorbacks, 14-4-1. The last time Tulsa and Arkansas met was a year ago in Fayetteville. In that game, then-sophomore Marcie Ferguson fueled the TU effort with two goals in a 3-2 Tulsa victory.

This weekend, Tulsa makes the short trip to Edmond, Okla. to play in the Oklahoma Shoot-out. TU faces Oklahoma State on Friday, Sept. 21 at 8:00 p.m. and Texas Tech on Sunday, Sept. 23 at 1:00 p.m.

The Golden Hurricane defeated both teams last season. Tulsa downed Oklahoma State, 5-0, and Texas Tech, 2-1.

Twellman Climbs to Eighth Place For Career Goals:
With her first goal of the season, Julie Twellman (Columbia, Mo.) moved into eighth-place on TU's career list for goals scored. With 21 career goals, Twellman needs just two more scores to move into seventh-place with former Hurricane standout Paige Mayer (1994-98). Over the last two seasons, Twellman has averaged 10 goals each season. She also ranks 11th among the school's career scoring leaders with 52 points.

Columbia Connection Paying Off for Tulsa:
The 2001 Tulsa roster features two players from Columbia, Mo. Julie Twellman and Alexis Arment (Columbia, Mo.), who are products of Rock Bridge High School. Both have three starts this season and Arment has played in every game. While Twellman ranks among TU's greatest scorers of all-time, Arment began her career at Tulsa on a high note. She is tied for second on the team in scoring with one goal and one assist for three points. Twellman has one goal for two points this season, but has 52 career points.

McCormick Closing in on TU's Career Assists Record:
Senior forward Melissa McCormick is just six assists shy of becoming the school's career assists leader. For her career, she has posted 20 goals and 14 assists for 54 points. The 20 goals are ninth all-time, the 14 assists ranks sixth on TU's list for career assists, while her 54 career points is the ninth-best total in school history.

Player Notes:
TU freshman goalkeeper Abby Fahrig (St. Charles, Mo.) already has 33 saves in four games this season. With an average of 8.3 saves per game, Fahrig is on pace for 157 saves, which would break the school's single-season saves mark of 120 set by Liz Fowler (1987-90) in 1989.

Sophomore goalkeeper Pam Devore (Derby, Kan.) suffered a knee injury just nine minutes into the second half against New Hampshire in the season opener. Devore tore her anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) in her left leg and will miss the remainder of the season. As a freshman, Devore started all 20 games and recorded 109 saves, the second most among TU's single-season leaders.
