Tulsa Golfers Finish in Seventh Place at Purina Classic

St. Charles, Mo. - The Tulsa men's golf team finished in seventh place at the Nestle Purina Classic on Tuesday. The Hurricane carded a final round 286 and completed the 54-hole event with an 861 score at the par-71 Missouri Bluffs Golf Club.
TU junior David Inglis finished in a five-way tie for sixth-place after scoring a five-under par 208. He tallied a one-over par 72 today after shooting six-under par yesterday. He finished three strokes behind the individual medallist Drew Dalziel of Iowa State.
Senior Billy Lowry turned in Tulsa's best round of the day with a two-under par 69 and finished in 20th place with a two-over par 215 total. Junior Chris Noel placed 25th overall with a four-over par total of 217, after today's one-over par 72. Sophomore Aaron Bell finished in 41st place with a nine-over par 222 total, while senior Marc Zien carded a two-over par 73 today and finished in 66th place with a total of 231.
Illinois captured the team title with an 836 total after a round of seven-under par 277 today. Host Missouri turned in a 15-under par final round of 269 and finished three strokes behind Illinois in second place with an 839 total. Iowa State, West Florida and Baylor rounded out the top-five.
Tulsa is back in action next at the 2002 Landfall Tradition in Wilmington, North Carolina, November 1-3.
