Tulsa's Schnarre Named WAC Defensive Player of the Week

Tulsa, Oklahoma - University of Tulsa freshman Carrie Schnarre has been named the Western Athletic Conference women's soccer Defensive Player of the Week for the week of Oct. 28 - Nov. 3, it was announced today by the league office.

Schnarre, native of Lake St. Louis, Mo., helped the Golden Hurricane to a 1-0-2 record last week. She anchored a defense that allowed just two goals and registered a shutout, with two matches going to two overtime periods. Schnarre started all three games and recorded her first career goal, as she tallied the game winner against Boise State in the regular season finale.

In her first season at TU, Schnarre has started 15 of 18 games this season and has produced one goal and one assist for three points. She is one of three freshmen to earn WAC Player of the Week honors this season. Also receiving player of the week merits are classmates Danielle Fauteux and Kelly Wilson. Fauteux is a two-time recipient of the award this season.
