Tulsa Men's Tennis Cruises Past UMKC, Drake

Tulsa, Oklahoma - In a tennis doubleheader at The Michael D. Case Tennis Center at The University of Tulsa, the Golden Hurricane men's team swept the twin-bill with a pair of 7-0 victories over UMKC and Drake.
Tulsa, ranked #45-nationally, came away with a clean sweep of the Kangaroos. The Hurricane swept all six singles matches and captured the three doubles matches, as well. Tulsa earned the single doubles point with the sweep and received six points for each singles position victory. Only one match made it to three sets. Tulsa's Dustin Taylor outfought UMKC's Yasuhito Minoda, 4-6, 6-1, 6-2, at the No. 3 singles position.
In the nightcap, Tulsa downed Drake, a former Missouri Valley Conference rival, 7-0. TU roared through the doubles matches, claiming the doubles point with a clean sweep. TU's 30th-ranked doubles combination of seniors Dane McGregor and Shri Sudhakara claimed their 21st match of the season with an 8-4 win over Aaron and Bryan Endress at the top doubles spot. In singles play, Tulsa eased past the Bulldogs with five of the six contests ending in straight set wins for TU. The lone match to extend to three sets was won by TU senior Sean Monk, 7-5, 3-6, 6-3, over Matt McClure.
Tulsa improves to 11-4 overall this season and 10-2 at home. UMKC fell to 0-2, while Drake slipped to 3-3 this season.
