Softball Doubleheader with Oklahoma City Has Been Postponed

Tulsa, Okla. - The University of Tulsa softball team's scheduled doubleheader with Oklahoma City University this afternoon, has been postponed due to the cold weather. The games have been rescheduled for Sunday, May 5th at 2 p.m. at the softball field in the Donna J. Hardesty Sports Complex.

Tulsa will return to action on Friday, March 1 at 3 p.m., when the Golden Hurricane host Southwest Missouri State in the third game of the 2002 Holiday Inn-Select Tulsa Festival.

The festival will begin at 9 a.m. with UMKC facing Illinois-Chicago. The University of Louisiana-Monroe takes on Drake at 11 a.m., followed by the TU/SMS game. ULM and Illinois-Chicago conclude the first day of competition at 5 p.m.

On Saturday, SMS and Drake will kick things off at 9 a.m., followed by UMKC versus ULM at 11 a.m. SMS will face Illinois-Chicago at 1 p.m. Tulsa will play a doubleheader with the first game being against Drake at 3 p.m. and the second game against Illinois-Chicago at 5 p.m.

A full slate of games will take place on Sunday as well. Illinois-Chicago faces Drake at 9 a.m., floowed by ULM and SMS. ULM will play Tulsa at 1 p.m.. UMKC will close out the festival with games against SMS at 3 p.m. and with Tulsa at 5 p.m.

The team with the best overall record in the festival will be crowned champion. Adult tickets for the event will be $4 per day, with student tickets being $2 per day. All games will be played at the softball field in the Donna J. Hardesty Sports Complex.
