Lady Bucs suffer tough losses to Tulsa

Charleston, SC - The Charleston Southern University softball team suffered two tough losses against Tulsa, Tuesday afternoon as the team fell 8-0 in both contests. The Lady Buccaneers struggled from the plate as the team only produced a combined total of seven hits in the two contests.
Kelly Backert led the way for CSU in the first contest as she went 1-for-3 from the plate. Samantha Miller was the team`s leader in the second game as she also went 1-for-3 as well.
Tulsa didn`t struggle from the plate, however, as the Golden Hurricane tallied 11 hits in both games. Second baseman Danielle Olsen led the way for Tulsa as she went 2-for-3 from the plate with two RBI and scored a run.
Olsen led way for the Hurricane in the second game as well as she went 3-for-4 from the plate with a fourth inning home run.
Junior pitcher Dana Jacobs took both losses for CSU. Lindsey Dyer and Ami Day got wins for Tulsa.
With the losses, the Lady Buccaneers fall to 8-20 on the season, but remain 1-1 in conference play. Tulsa improves to 21-2 on the year. The Lady Bucs will head to Rock Hill, S.C. this weekend to compete in the Winthrop Tournament.
