Tulsa, Oklahoma - For the first time in three seasons, the Tulsa women's soccer team lost a game at the Oklahoma Shootout. TU, back-to-back tournament champions in 2000 and 2001, dropped a 2-0 decision to Oklahoma at the 2002 Mazzio's Oklahoma Shootout at the ORU Soccer Fields.
Tulsa (0-1) had its four-game winning streak snapped, which included one win over OU and Texas Tech and two over Oklahoma State. Tulsa will play the OSU Cowgirls on Sunday at 6:00 p.m. at the ORU Soccer Fields.
Lauren MacIver's goal with eight minutes remaining in the first half proved to be enough for OU (1-0). In the second half, Oklahoma's Michelle Enos found the back of the net to push the final score to 2-0. Sooner goalkeeper Catherine Wade recorded the shutout, as the Golden Hurricane were limited to only three shots on goal.
TU freshman goalkeeper Kelly Wilson was tested early and often as she collected three saves and allowed two goals after facing 27 total shots compared to just nine for Wade.
