Tulsa Cross Country Sweeps Weekly WAC Honors

Denver, Colo. - Tulsa's Andy Norman and Tami Scott have been named the Western Athletic Conference men's and women's cross country Athletes of the Week, respectively.

Norman, a native of Stockport, England, grabbed first at the Hurricane Cross Country Festival in Tulsa Okla., with a time of 19:44 over the four-mile course. Norman helped the Hurricane to defend its title from last season. He was also one of six Hurricane to place in the top 10.

Scott, a freshman from Amhest Junction, Wisc., was the top finisher for the Hurricane, placing fifth in the two-mile event in a time of 11:22. She topped teammate Sarah Haskins by two seconds.

Additional men's nominees included; Bashar Ibrahim, UTEP; Matt Heard, San Jose State.

Additional women's nominees included: Ashleigh Nebeker, San Jose State.
