Cross Country Teams Finish Seasons at District V Championships

Stillwater, Okla. - Both the men's and women's cross country team from The University of Tulsa completed their respective seasons at the District V Championships in Stillwater, Okla., on Saturday. The men's team completed the 10,000-meter course with a 12th place showing out of 22 teams, while the women's squad finished 16th in a 24-team field.

Senior Owain Matthews finished 31st overall with a time of 32:10. Junior Justin Rempel was TU's second runner for the first time this season, with a 57th place finish in time of 32:50. Sophomore Taylor Williams finished 71st out of the 155-runner field with a time of 33:05.

On the women's side, senior Monica Joannes led the Hurricane attack as she has done all season. Joannes finished the 6,000-meter course with a time of 22:47 for 45th place overall. Junior Natalie Rasmussen finshed 64th out of 161 runners, with a time of 23:09. In her first meet of the season, transfer Mikaela Montell was TU's third runner, with an 88th place finish in a time of 23:33.
