Tulsa Softball Signs Tower to National Letter of Intent

Tulsa, Okla. - The University of Tulsa softball team added another player to the 2005 roster, as Lindsey Tower selected The University of Tulsa as the institution she would like to continue her education, announced TU Head Softball Coach James Pinkerton.

Tower, a 2003 Oklahoma all-stater, helped lead her Edmond North High School team to a No. 2 ranking as a senior and a state tournament appearance. She posted a .318 batting average at ENHS, in addition to being a three-time all-Edmond first-team selection.

The Lady Husky senior is just as busy off the field, as she is a member of the National Honor society and Fellowship of Christian Athletes. Tower excels in the classroom, as well as on the diamond, has been awarded a Certificate of Excellence for Honor Biology and Chemistry, in addition to being named to America's Who's Who Among High School Students.

Playing for the Oklahoma Thrillers during the summer, Tower also helped her club team to 50-game winning streak. The outfielder used a .304 batting average and .410 on-base percentage to help the Thrillers to a ASA 18U National Tournament appearance.

The Golden Hurricane is coming off its second consecutive winning season in 2003, with a 34-29 record. Tulsa was ranked as high as 35th nationally last season, with wins over College World Series participants Oklahoma and Louisiana- Lafayette as well as a pair of victories over perennial national power Fresno State.
