TULSA, Okla. (AP) - Jonathan Modica scored a career-high 28 points, and Arkansas made 10 of 12 free throws in the final 44 seconds in an 81-74 victory over Tulsa on Tuesday.
The Razorbacks (7-3) had suffered through a prolonged cold spell in two previous home-court losses, shooting just 32 percent from the field, 18 percent on 3-pointers and 52 percent from the line.
They responded by draining a season-high 11, 3-pointers against Tulsa, none more important than senior Billy Pharis' shot, which gave Arkansas a 71-66 lead with 1:07 to play.
Tulsa came as close as 74-72 after two free throws by Jarius Glenn with 27 seconds left.
Arkansas guard Eric Ferguson missed the second of two free throws a second later, but Pharis got the rebound and Ferguson was fouled again.
That gave Arkansas a 77-72 advantage with 20 seconds left.
Arkansas made 11 of 23, 3-pointers for 47.8 percent and 24 of 33 free throws.
Freshman Ronnie Brewer had 14 points and 10 rebounds, while Pharis and Ferguson contributed 12 points each. Modica made 5-of-7, 3-pointers and also had seven rebounds.
Glenn powered in a career-high 27 points and had 13 rebounds for Tulsa. The Golden Hurricane (4-5) is off to its worst start since the 1992-93 season.
Jason Parker had 11 points but made just 4 of 17 field goals.
A long 3-pointer by Parker gave Tulsa its final lead at 64-63, but Arkansas reeled off five consecutive points capped by a floater by Brewer and never trailed again.
