Humanitarian Bowl Tickets on Sale at TU Athletic Ticket Office

Tulsa, Oklahoma - The University of Tulsa athletic ticket office is now selling tickets to the Humanitarian Bowl, where the Golden Hurricane will face off against the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets, on January 3, 2004. Game time is 10:00 a.m. at Bronco Stadium in Boise, Idaho.
Tickets are $35 and can be purchased by calling the TU athletic ticket office at 918-631-GoTU (4688) or in person at the Reynolds Center ticket office.
This will be the third meeting between Tulsa and Georgia Tech, all three of which have been in bowl games. The two previous games came in the 1944 Sugar Bowl, as Georgia Tech captured a 20-18 victory, and a year later Tulsa avenged that loss with a 26-12 win in the 1945 Orange Bowl.
Tulsa completed the 2003 regular season with an 8-4 overall record and finished in second place in the Western Athletic Conference with a 6-2 mark. Georgia Tech comes into the game with a 6-6 overall mark and a 4-4 record in the Atlantic Coast Conference.
"This is a great opportunity for our football team to get to play one more game," said Tulsa Head Coach, Steve Kragthorpe. "This team is deserving of the opportunity to play in a bowl game. I'm really excited for these seniors with everything that they've gone through in their career here at The University of Tulsa. To have a chance to play one more game is obviously a great reward for them."
Coach Kragthorpe continues, "the Humanitarian Bowl has a great history of exciting games, a town that I'm well aware of, having grown up in the state of Idaho, that loves football and supports football extremely well. I know that they'll be excited about Tulsa coming to Boise because they were very complimentary of the way we played and competed against Boise State this last season."
