Tulsa's Inglis Named WAC Golfer of the Week

David Inglis won his sixth career Western Athletic Conference Golfer of the Week award following his third-place finish at the Matlock Collegiate Classic.

Denver, Colorado - University of Tulsa golfer David Inglis was named the Western Athletic Conference's Golfer of the Week, as announced by the league office today. The honor marked the sixth time in his three-year career that Inglis has won the WAC's weekly award.

A junior from Roslin, Scotland, Inglis placed third in a field of 90 golfers at the Matlock Collegiate Classic last week. After carding back-to-back rounds of 72 on the first day, Inglis posted a five-under par, 67 on the final day to lead the Golden Hurricane to their second straight Matlock title.

Inglis has placed among the top-25 in all five tournaments this year, and has finished among the top-10 four times. Inglis' best finish was at the Matlock Classic, while his other top-10 performances included fifth-place at the Jim Colbert Intercollegiate, sixth-place at the Purina Classic and 10th place at the Ping Arizona Intercollegiate. He has a team-leading 71.9 stroke average.

A 2001 second-team All-American as a freshman, Inglis now has 22 top-20 finishes, and 18 top-10 performances in 32 career tournaments.
