TULSA, Okla. –Tulsa Men's Golf is adding fresh talent to its roster, as head coach Brandon Wilkins announced the signing of four student-athletes during National Signing Day. The class represents the next wave of Golden Hurricane golfers ready to make an impact on the program's future success.
Coach Wilkins has announced the signings of Brady Meek, Abe Bignell, Ethan Roos and Luke Beckman.
Brady Meek
Meek joins the Golden Hurricane from Texas Wesleyan University, where he was a standout member of the golf program for the past two seasons. Following the 2023-24 campaign, Meek earned NAIA All-America honors as a true freshman after compiling three individual victories and four top-three finishes, ranking as the 18th-best golfer in the NAIA with a 71.2 scoring average.
During his sophomore season at TWU, Meek has elevated his game even further, capturing three wins in six fall events along with one runner-up finish. He currently ranks 14th nationally in the NAIA, according to Clippd, and owns a 69.5 scoring average. Meek has also been recognized as the Sooner Athletic Conference Men's Golfer of the Week three times this fall.
"Brady Meek is the kind of young man every coach wants in their program," remarked coach Wilkins. "He's a proven winner—three titles this fall—but even more impressive is the way he handles himself with maturity, humility, and consistency. He embodies what we're building here at the University of Tulsa: a culture of competitiveness, character, and growth on and off the course."
Abe Bignell
Bignell joins the Golden Hurricane after spending the past two seasons at McLennan Community College, where he established himself as one of the top junior college golfers in the nation. He currently holds the No. 1 ranking in the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA). This fall, Bignell has competed in four tournaments, earning three individual titles, including a victory at the NJCAA Division I National Preview, where he topped a field of 90 golfers. He owns a scoring average of 68.3 through four events and was named the NJCAA Region 5 Golfer of the Week for his performance at the National Preview.
During his freshman season at McLennan, Bignell helped lead the program to an eighth-place finish at the NJCAA Division I National Championship. He competed in 11 tournaments, posting nine top-20 finishes, highlighted by a win at the Oakwood Intercollegiate Championship. His outstanding debut season earned him PING Golf Coaches Association All-Freshman Team honors.
Before his collegiate career, Bignell gained extensive competitive experience, playing in more than 500 tournaments during his junior career and recording over 30 victories and 100 top-10 finishes.
"Abe Bignell is a proven winner and one of the most confident competitors you'll find," coach Wilkins said. "He's won three times this fall and currently stands as the No. 1 JUCO player in the country. Abe plays with passion, thrives under pressure, and is constantly pushing himself to improve. He's going to make an immediate impact on our program and embody the competitive spirit we value at the University of Tulsa."
Ethan Roos
Roos comes to Tulsa after establishing himself as one of the top junior golfers in England. He owns a scoring average of 72.7 and is currently ranked No. 89 in the European U18 Golf Rankings. During his junior career, Roos has earned multiple victories, including a first-place finish at the prestigious Sir Henry Cooper Championships, and has recorded 11 top-10 finishes overall.
"Ethan Roos is one of the best junior players to come out of England this year, and he's proven himself against elite competition overseas," stated coach Wilkins. "He brings maturity, professionalism, and a drive to compete at the highest level. Ethan is going to make an immediate impact on our team and strengthen the winning culture we're building at the University of Tulsa."
Luke Beckman
Beckman joins his McLennan Community College teammate, Abe Bignell, in signing with the Golden Hurricane. Currently ranked No. 25 in the NJCAA individual standings, Beckman has put together a strong start to his sophomore campaign, posting two top-10 finishes in his last two tournaments, including a sixth-place showing at the NJCAA Division I National Preview. He owns a 71.0 scoring average over 10 rounds this fall.
