Women's Cross Country Team One of Nation's Best

Tulsa, Okla. - The University of Tulsa women's cross country team recorded the country's best grade point average in 2002, to head the Women's Intercollegiate Cross Country Coaches Association's (WICCCA) all-academic cross country teams. Tulsa posted a team GPA of 3.68.
An incredible one-third of all Division I Women's Cross Country teams earned All-Academic Team Honors for the 2002 season. Of 309 Division I Women's Cross Country programs 118 had a team cumulative GPAs of 3.0 or higher at the end of the 2002 cross country season. Of that number 85 posted cumulative GPAs of 3.25 or higher to earn the award "With Distinction".
Tulsa and Oklahoma State (11th) were the only Oklahoma schools as having "With Distinction" honors. Nevada (90th) and Hawai`i (96th) were the only other Western Athletic Conference schools listed on the all-academic honors list.
