Tulsa Cross Country Teams Open Season with Hurricane Festival

Tulsa, Okla. - Both the men's and women's Golden Hurricane cross country teams will open their 2004 seasons at the Hurricane Festival at Mohawk Park on Saturday, Sept. 4. The men will be the first collegiate race of the day beginning at 8:35, and the women's starting at approximately 9:10 a.m. The Tulsa men's team has won the last four festivals. At the 2003 meet, TU placed four runners in the top-10 while outdistancing Oklahoma, Kansas State, and Oral Roberts for the team title in the four-mile event. The Tulsa women's team finished third at the two-mile meet, while matching their male counterparts with four runners in the top-10. The men's team welcomes back returning all-conference team members Taylor Williams, Justin Rempel, and Andrew Beard. Teams schedule to appear at the Hurricane Festival include Oklahoma Baptist and Oklahoma State.
