Stillwater, Okla. - Oklahoma State scored 24 second half points and defeated the Tulsa Golden Hurricane 38-21 in front of a crowd of 47,307 fans at Boone-Pickens Stadium.

The win for the Cowboys extended its home winning streak against the Hurricane to 19 games, dating back to the 1951 season when Tulsa last defeated the Cowboys in Stillwater.

OSU scored all 38 of its points after the Hurricane took a 7-0 lead.

After holding Oklahoma State on the opening drive, Tulsa took its first possession 70 yards in seven plays for the first score of the game. On third down-and-seven, quarterback James Kilian connected with tight end Garrett Mills on a seven-yard touchdown pass.

Tulsa opened the drive from the 30-yard line with a 33-yard pass from Kilian to Ashlan Davis on the first play.

OSU answered with a 75-yard, 13-play drive of its own on the next possession as quarterback Donovan Woods dove over the top from the one-yard line at the 4:52 mark of the first quarter. OSU tailback Vernon Morency, who entered the game ranked second nationally in rushing, gained 51yards on the drive.

The next 20 minutes remained scoreless until the host Cowboys scored seven points with 0:09 left in the first half to go up 14-7 at halftime. The scoring drive covered 48 yards in nine plays as Woods scored his second touchdown on a sneak from the one-yard line.

At halftime, OSU held a 166 to 104-yard edge in total offense, as well as nearly a nine-minute advantage in possession time. Tulsa had 62 yards passing to eight for the Cowboys, but OSU had 158 rushing yards to Tulsa's 43.

The Cowboys scored three second-half touchdowns as two of the possessions began inside Tulsa territory, from the 29 and 46-yard lines.

A Tulsa miscue led to OSU's third score of the game, as the Cowboys took over from the Tulsa 29-yard line following a Hurricane fumble on its second possession of the second half. The Hurricane defense forced the Cowboys into a field goal attempt, as OSU converted on a 19-yard field goal to take a 17-7 lead with 7:28 remaining in the third quarter.

The Cowboys scored on their next possession with a 47-yard pass completion from Woods to Chijuan Mack to take a 24-7 lead and kept that lead heading into the fourth stanza.

OSU scored in the fourth quarter on a 59-yard punt return by Darrent Williams.

After the OSU score, Tulsa followed with two straight scoring drives. On the first drive, Kilian connected with Montiese Culton on a 35-yard pass capping a four-play, 52-yard drive in 1:37. On Tulsa's next possession, the Hurricane put together a 15-play, 75-yard drive that culminated in a one-yard Brandon Diles run.

For the game, Tulsa gained 268 yards with 168 through the air and 100 yards on the ground. Oklahoma State gained 346 yards, as Morency rushed for 184 of OSU's 276 rushing yards.
