TULSA, Okla. (AP) - Michael Harris had 26 points and 13 rebounds to lead Rice to a 71-64 overtime victory over Tulsa Saturday at the Reynolds Center.

Harris, a 6-foot-6 senior All-American candidate, had a three-pointer spin in-and-out just before the end of regulation with the score tied at 57-57.

Tulsa (6-15, 3-9 WAC) blew a seven point lead late in the second half, as the Golden Hurricane led 55-48 after a basket by Brett McDade with 3:40 remaining.

Rice (13-8, 7-5) had trailed since before halftime before its late surge.

Tulsa's miscues, combined with clutch baskets by Rice, got the Owls back in the game. Jason McKrieth hit a 3-pointer with 1:32 remaining to tie the game at 55-55.

McKrieth hit a 10-foot runner that bounced around before falling with 28.4 seconds remaining to give Rice a 57-55 lead. McKrieth finished with 16 points.

Tulsa's Vernell Davis scored on a reverse layup with 11 seconds remaining to tie the game at 57-57.

Rice dominated during overtime as J.R. Harrison came up with a big basket and subsequent free throw after a foul was called with 2:39 left in overtime put Rice up 63-59.

The Owls then finished by making eight-of-eight free throws to secure the win in overtime. It was the first time in nine games that Rice had won on Tulsa's home floor, with most of the previous games being lopsided Tulsa victories. Jarius Glenn led Tulsa in scoring with 15 points, while teammates Seneca Collins scored 13 points and Brett McDade scored 12 points.

Tulsa has lost its last seven overtime games over the last three seasons.
