- Garrett Mills' 13 receptions for 152 yards are both career highs, and Mills produced his second career 100-yard receiving game. The 152 yards is the best single game performance since Romby Bryant's 166 yards against San Jose State in 2002, while his 13 receptions were the most since Donald Shoals' 13 catches against Fresno State in 2000.

- Garrett Mills increased his streak of consecutive games with a reception to 29 with a second-down catch on TU's opening drive.

- Garrett Mills caught the first seven passes of the game for TU.

- Quarterback Paul Smith started his second career game and registered career highs in completions (24), attempts (36) and yards (246). Smith also recorded career-bests of 18 carries and 48 yards and registered his second career rushing touchdown.

- Oklahoma's 92 yards in the first half was the least amount of yards the Sooners have gained against the Golden Hurricane since 1943. The previous low was 159 yards in 1993 at Norman.

- TU's 9-7 lead against Oklahoma in the third quarter was the Hurricane's first lead against the Sooners since Sept. 28, 1996, when Tulsa erased a 24-7 OU halftime lead by scoring 24 straight points in the second half en route to a 31-24 victory.
